Oil fired boiler suddenly decided not to work.?

Got a phone call from my mum earlier while at work saying the central heating won't work. Apparently it attempts to fire up with the pre-ignition (if that's what its called.. where it sucks in air for about 10-15 seconds before firing the oil) it clicks, as if its trying to light the oil, and then stops and the reset light lights up.

The reset button for pressed but this time after the 'pre-ignition' no click is heard and it all just stops.

The boiler is getting power (obviously) and no fuses have blown as this computer still works (heating power supply connected to ring main).

Details:

Make: RIELLE BURNERS

Model: RDB1 BF

Fuel: 1000 litres of kerosene heating oil

One pipe going between the tank and boiler

It was last serviced approx 1 year ago (filters changed, injector cleaned)

Any ideas on how to be warm appreciated!

PS, this is in the UK if that makes any difference...Oil fired boiler suddenly decided not to work.?
could be flame sensor or thermocouple.Oil fired boiler suddenly decided not to work.?
My first guess is that the ignition isn't working and is not producing a spark. With no ignition, the supporting circuitry shuts down.

I had a similar problem a while back due to a delivery of oil contaminated by water. The ignition points became gunked up with some sort of deposit which created a short circuit thereby preventing a spark to occur where it was needed. The oil tank had to be drained %26amp; refilled with fresh oil. And, of course, the points cleaned a few times.
