USUALLY THEY WILL EITHER CAUSE A MISFIRE IN A CYLINDER OR WON'T LET YOUR VAN START AT ALL. IF IT IS THE TBI STYLE YOU CAN LOOK AND SEE IF IT IS LEAKING INTO THE THROTTLE BODY AFTER YOU SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. ALSO YOU CAN TEST FOR LOOSING FUEL PRESSURE. IF IT IS JUST A CASE OF LACK OF POWER A QUALIFIED SHOP CAN PROFFESIONALY CLEAN THEM WITH A SPECIAL CLEANING UNIT THAT ATTACHES TO THE FUEL LINE AND THEN THEY HAVE TO RUN YOUR CAR FOR ABOUT TEN TO FIFTEEN MINUTES WITH THE UNIT ON. THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN THEM THEY DO ALOT MORE THAN THE CHEMICALS YOU CAN JUST PUT IN YOUR TANK. IF IT IS THE SFI STYLE THE INJECTOR IS ACTUALLY MOUNTED IN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND THE ONLY CHECKS ARE THE LEAKDOWN TESTS AND THESE ONES ARE EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE EVEN IF YOU DO IT YOURSELF. THESE RUN ABOUT 300.00 JUST FOR THE INJECTOR THE TBI ONES YOU CAN PICK UP FOR 15 TO 20 DOLLARS EACH OR CHEAPER IF YOU GET THE REMAN ONES. YOU WILL NEED TO FIND OUT WHICH STYLE YOU HAVE FOR THEY USED BOTH IN THIS YEAR. BASICALLY IF YOU HAVE A BALANCED SHAFT MOTOR 4.3 VIN W EIGHTH DIGIT IT IS THE MORE EXPENSIVE ONE IF YOU HAVE THE Z MOTOR IT HAS A THROTTLE BODY AND ARE CHEAP TO REPLACE ACTUALLY CHEAPER TO REPLACE THESE ONES THAN HAVING THEM CLEANED. DEFINITELY CALL AROUND ON PRICES FOR THESE BECAUSE I KNOW ALL THE PARTS STORES IN MICHIGAN VARY GREATLY ON THE PRICES OF THESE.Fuel injector on a 1995 GMC Safari SLX?
If in fact it is the injectors that are creating whatever problem prompted this question , it is more likely they need to be cleaned not replaced.Try running some Barrymans through your fuel (find it at any auto parts supply store). If that don't do it , then you will have to remove them.Injectors clog or get gummed but don't fail or break, there just tiny needle like metal tube and are protected in the injection housing.

P.S. YOU don't NEED any special cleaning solution or certified mechanic to clean injectors they make all kinds of over the counter injector cleaners and if they don't get it done neither will the not so special(special) cleaner at the high dollar shop.If you have to remove them its easy to do and replace them as well get a manual at the auto store for you jimmy ,you CAN do this yourself.
