My car makes hissing noise upon start up.?

My car makes loud hissing noise upon start up but stops like 3 ten seconds later. Also sometimes when I turn the Ignition key such that all the lights comes on then turn it anti clockwise, then clockwise, then anti clockwise and then clock wise, the check engine light blinks then stops. The hissing noise started yesterday. I think it's due for tune up. It's a 1995 dodge Avenger ES, V6 2.5L engine. How much should Tune up cost? if they are to change the air filter and clean the fuel injector? I did oil change last week and the work shop also changed the oil filter. My car makes hissing noise upon start up.?
HAHAHA...Stop turning your key back and forth. You are resetting your computer. What the computer does is checks for problems, and you can take your car to auto zone and they do a free check with everything wrong with your car. When you turn your key back and forth it just resets the computer and erases everything that was stored.LOL.(dont do that) The hissing sound could be a vacuum leak, your fuel pump turning on(suppose to), or just your head messing with you.My car makes hissing noise upon start up.?
On the older Dodges you used the key off, key on method to check for codes, that is why your check engine blinks, you have a probable hard fault in the system. Also do you have hidden headlights that work off of vacuum? I am thinking that is what you may be hearing. The hissing noise represents a vacuum leak in that engine compartment. A tune up would be plugs, wires, pvc valve if needed, change the fuel filter, check all vacuum for leaking, burnt spots, brittleness as they would need to be replaced. Did you ever change your O2 sensor, you should especially if your car has over 100,000 miles on it. Total cost for parts between $100.00 and $150.00 if you buy them.My car makes hissing noise upon start up.?
I had this same issue with my old 92 Nissan Stanza that had 245,000 miles on it. It was the starter disengaging from the flywheel causing the noise.

As far as the tune up goes since you have a transverse mounted V6 it will probably cost 200-300 dollars depending on where it is done. Transverse v6's are a pain in the butt to get to the back 3 cylinders.
