I was doing some research, and I was wondering if it's true that if I swapped out my fuel injectors if it would create more power (HP/TQ)? also would it even be noticeable as far as power increase? how will it effect fuel? Just wondering what I can do it enhance the performance of my car. I'm not trying to boost or build a block, nor am I trying to throw down serious power or cause any unreliable circumstances. Just trying to 'enhance' some power. I know adding on a intake, exhaust system and so on would be some simple power enhancements. My goal is to keep under $150.00/ per part. What are some things I can adjust and what are some add ons?

No. Add injectors without changing the fuel mapping and you'll get no power and you probably will get a reduction in gas mileage. You only change the injectors when you want to add more fuel, so it's basically when increasing the output of your supercharger or turbocharger (of which you have neither)...even then you have to adjust the fuel map on your pcm to adjust for the increase of intake air.
You can't buy any of the parts you mentioned for under 150 bucks; maybe an aem short ram. %26quot;Down piped%26quot;...no...just no...the part is called a downpipe it has a catalytic converter in line it attaches to your HEADER (there's only 1). Both are present on your car usually steel and people usually swap for stainless steel with a bigger diameter which is not necessary on most 4-banger cars without a supercharger or turbocharger.
Chipping is stupid. You're going to pay 250 bucks for a Jet chip that you can't alter when you could be a standalone programmable tuner for about 500?
Don't listen to the guy telling you to buy a bigger throttle body. It's not necessary on your car as is.
Let me give you some real advice. Visit the mazda 3 forums and learn something about your car before you spend money on things you know very little about...you know...to save yahoo answerers from having to answer a question about how you screwed up your car by pulling in sand through the intake to do a ghetto-bore.Fuel injectors = more power if changed out?
Adding just injectors without doing anything to the intake would be a waste of money, power gains if any would not be noticable. Keep in mind that an engine is just a big air pump, for performance you need to get as much air in and exhaust out as possible. That is very simplified but I hope it helps.
In my opinion, cold air intake, exhaust, tune the engine control module. Cheapest and easiest way to add a little bit of power to any newer car relatively cheap. After that you are getting into serious planning and compatibility issues between using the right components for what you are running.Fuel injectors = more power if changed out?
chip the computer
they make programmers all over the place for different setups
don't have to change out any parts and you can unlock somewhere around 15 or so horsepower
you might see an improvement in gas mileage if you can tweak the cars programming just right
get the smoothest intake and exhaust with header pipes all the same length
the smoother the inside of the intake and exhaust throughout the system the better the airflow the better the power and better the gas mileage
just putting bigger output fuel injectors you would probably see a decrease in gas mileage and if you just put ones on there that basically just dump gas, you'll probably just set the check engine lightFuel injectors = more power if changed out?
because the computer is watching the productivity of that engine and trimming the fuel delivered to match the amount of air coming in, you should not see any difference, UNLESS you go to a larger bore throttle body. THEN the increased air could match up to in the increased fuel.Fuel injectors = more power if changed out?
if ur talking performance injectors they shue give u up to 10 horses...which means um maybe 2-3 at the wheels.... and ur stock injectors will do the same thing with a programmer.....so unless ur going to get ur computer programmed(and u shud do this AFTER all other mods like exhaust intake ect..) then ur just wasting ur money on injector swap.....now having them cleaned occasionally isn't a bad idea...walmart does it for 20 bucks.....good luck
